Tribute to 19 Pastors Honored by Huron Methodist Church
The US Methodist Episcopal church of Huron marks its golden anniversary. Tribute will honor 19 pastors who served over 50 years with the church and notes the long pastorate of Dr O E Boyce from October 1916 to October 1922. The 1920 church edifice cost about 107 thousand dollars and was dedicated by Bishop Charley Bayard Mitchell. Clark Refuses To Talk On Double Slaying
Los Angeles May 22 David H. Clark a former deputy district attorney was held on a charge of slaying Herbert Spencer editor and Charles Crawford politician who were shot to death in Crawford office. Clark surrendered to Buron Fitts who said Clark identified by Crawford employees as the man in conference with the victims just before they were shot. Fitts said Clark refused to speak after questioning. Clark had recently run for a Los Angeles municipal judgeship against objections from Crawford and Spencer and had sought resignation as deputy district attorney. Police say a 38 caliber pistol was bought by Clark Tuesday. Bullets killed Spencer and Crawford. The killings were first linked to underworld interests tied to the Critic of Critics magazine which Spencer managed and Crawford patronized. McAfee denied near scene. The case unsettled earlier gangland theories. Clark resigns after eight years in the district attorney's office.

The engineer L Hillgrove of Pittsburgh was killed when the Pittsburgh Buffalo train struck a 12 ton boulder near Edge Cliff, 25 miles north of Pittsburgh.
