South Dakota Prosperity Forecast From State Official
State Secretary of Agriculture Laysen G. Troth reports South Dakota shows encouraging trends across agriculture mining and tourism. Gold production in the Black Hills up about 10 percent from last year with rising mica and feldspar outputs. Livestock prices pressuring farmers who expand operations while sugar beet prospects look excellent and road work plus rising tourist traffic are expected to bring in substantial revenue. National conventions next year will boost state earnings as per Troth who notes optimistic comparisons to less favored regions.
