George Fryer 78 Dies in Doland

George Fryer aged 78 died at 4 p.m. on May 16 in Doland. A pioneer homesteader on a farm five miles northeast of Doland since 1882, he was born in Rome, New York, and moved to Hinds as a boy. Survived by two brothers and two sisters, AL Fryer of Deland, Howard Exyer of Le Wash, Mrs Lille Gilbert of Hitchcock, and Mrs Emma Lee of Doland. Funeral services set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Doland Methodist Church.

George Olson Is New Legion Head at William Reaves Post

George W. Olson a Standard Oil clerk was named commander of William Reaves Post American Legion at last night’s election. He will succeed Hal H. Busse when the slate is installed in late September.
