Premier Tsuyoshi Inukai was shot by young cadets in his Tokyo home as a failing plot to seize the government unfolded. Cabinet ministers resigned, Prince Saionji traveled to confer, and a state funeral was planned with acting Premier Takahashi leading arrangements.

Lindbergh Instructor Dies In Plane Tailspin Tragedy

In Cottonwood Arizona on Sunday a plane piloted by Jack Lynch collided in a tailspin at 2 000 feet killing Lynch and pupil William A Clark third aged 26. Clark grandson of the late Senator Clark of Montana and stock holder in western mines. Both victims left widows and two children. The pilot had earlier aided Charles A Lindbergh with flight instruction.

San Rafael Calif May 4 Captain Robert Dollar 88 veteran of shipping and lumber died at home after a two week illness. Known as the grand old man of the Pacific he built a worldwide fleet and led several Dollar companies. Record Primary Vote Sets South Dakota History

The state canvassing board reports the 1932 South Dakota primary set a record with about 31,000 more votes than the 1930 tally. Republicans led in governor races and Norbeck topped all candidates with 95,498 votes. Democratic results showed Berry and Cherry also leading in their respective races. Fiendish attack alleged by two youths in Hazleton
