Anna Gutormson born July 15 1864 in Sakkestad Skaare Norway. She married John C Gutormson in 1634 at Skaare Church Haugesund then moved across several states including Eagle Grove Pierpont Hillhead Day County Lynne Township and Huron. She died May 5 in Huron and is survived by a husband two daughters and four sons plus 17 grandchildren. Funeral services held in Huron and Pierpont with missions money sent in her memory.
Irma Lea Mortimer reports Mortimer School pupils will picnic on May 20 at the schoolhouse. They will dine there, then if the weather allows travel to the river for an afternoon game. Entertainment begins around 10 36 with lunch served about 11 30 at the schoolhouse.
Wellington May 31 In the pastor's absence the Rev Orval D Seitz the young people of the Church of Christ conducted the whole evening service Elizabeth DeHaven presided and led the singing Marian Freese led the prayer service with the young men assisting in portions of the program
Mrs Marvin Wullweber hosted the Methodist Ladies Aid with fifteen members and one visitor attending. Ruth Schwab delivered the sermon, Archie Kramer gave the benediction, and offerings were taken at the communion table. Lunch was provided by Mrs. D. H. Barnes, W. F. Bolts, and Mrs. William Rup pel. A pot luck lunch is planned for June at Mrs. W. F. Bolte’s home. Virgil May 11 Special.
