Wheat quotas not needed says Federal officials in May forecast
Federal crop officials said prospective wheat supplies do not justify marketing quotas to curb surpluses. A wartime style report notes a winter wheat crop forecast of 543,026,000 bushels with potential total supply around 1.618 billion for the season, while May 1 conditions hint at smaller outputs. Rye and winter wheat in South Dakota show sharp declines.
