Wessington Gold Star Mother Heads to France for Son
Gold Star mother Mrs. Helen Radcliffe of Wessington travels to France on Mother's Day to visit her son Clifton D. Radcliffe's grave in the Meuse Argonne. Bravery Of Wife And Daughters May Save Farmer's Life
Aberdeen May 3 The 64 year old Potter county farmer George Schmidt near Tolstoy suffered five fractured ribs and a broken collar bone as a bull charged him. His wife Cecelia 19 and daughter Mary rushed to help divert the bull and carry him to safety though the bull tossed them from a fence. Cecelia escaped unharmed and the others were not seriously injured. Schmidt remains unable to be moved to hospital with fear of internal injuries.
