Gunnison Attacks Rural Credit Lease Policy Changes
Pierre May 3 George L Gunnison former Rural Credit Board secretary and deputy state treasurer accused W R Hoeve Rural Credit Director of withholding facts about lease policy changes. Gunnison said new policy issues a separate lease for each tract and reduced cash rent collection, cutting department receipts about 45 percent in the first three months of 1937 to 197,965.83 from 438,346.93 in 1936. He warned that bonds and interest are payable in dollars, not leases.
