Aberdeen reports the body of 3 W. Albright was found in shallow water at Wylie Park Lake at noon. Death appears by drowning. He was fully clothed and unmarked. Investigators review Albright’s movements in the past 18 hours. No car or wagon found. inquest undecided. Survived by widow and three children Merle, Buddy, and Margie.
In New Castle Kentucky Brig Gen Henry H Denhardt wept as defense lawyer John Marshall Berry argued his client’s innocence in the murder of his fiancé Verna Garr Taylor. The 61 year old defendant broke down and declared he fights to save his life as the case nears jury deliberation after more than two weeks of trial.

George C Green was unanimously elected mayor to succeed John P Walsh who retires. C Olson began a second term on the city commission after the April 20 election. Charins R B Kent and Ed J Ulrich, elected in spring, begin three year terms.
George C Green was unanimously elected mayor of Huron for the coming year at the city commission’s annual reorganizational meeting last night. Charles R Kentland Ed B Ulrich joined the governing board and Olson began his new term. Kuehn, elected to a three year term when the manager plan started in 1935, was named vice mayor. Other board members include Dr J S Tschetter John M Kautz Frank H Ripley and J C Burns. A nursery project at the west wells was approved to cultivate Norway pine Scotch pine Blue Spruce and Austrian pine under city supervision.
Mayor John P. Walsh and Commissioner J. S. Colton left the Huron city commission last night. They praised City Manager Sears and the city manager plan as George C. Green prepared to take the chair. Colton said his two years on the commission offered unmatched experience, and both men retired due to other business pressures.
The city manager submitted an application for reinstatement of a withdrawn auditorium project to state PWA officials after a $200,000 bond issue was approved in the April election. W. F. Cochrane guaranteed action to reinstate and approve. The city seeks federal funds to build an auditorium estimated at $365,000 as WPA progress targets include street graveling operations.

Edgar C. Olson, 83, veteran South Dakota clothier, died after four months illness in Sioux Falls. He once owned a group of stores in Brookings Watertown Huron Rapid City and Sioux Falls, later retaining only Sioux Falls and Brookings shops. Surviving spouse, son Lyle, sisters in Los Angeles and Everett Wasi, and a granddaughter. Olson helped shape Huron retail clothing for about 13 years, with firms Olson Ohman and Olson Lake, later E C Olson Clothing Company. He also owned local property including a site later used by J J Newberry.
