Blizzard victim kin location efforts stalled in Rapid City

Rapid City reports sheriff H A Nielsen said AL Leonard, a farmhand employed by Emil Smith, died last Thursday during a blizzard after leaving a tractor in a ditch. His body was found about five miles south of Scenic, brought to Rapid City late yesterday. A separate Washington notice says 40 percent of North Dakota’s radio talent are listed, totaling 165,382 families and 39,352 radio sets.

Notre Dame Coach Knute Rockne Dies In Plane Crash

Knute Rockne legendary Notre Dame football coach and seven others killed when a Trans continental and Western Air passenger and mail plane crashed near Bazar Kansas. The craft exploded midair and burned after takeoff from Kansas City en route to Wichita raised fog and storm. The passenger list included Rockne and Chicago residents J E Hooper and Coon F Goldthwaite New York C A Lobrech and Hartford W B Miller. Pilots were Robert Fry and Jess Mathias. Two Die in San Francisco Plane Crash Demonstration

In Sioux Falls last night two men Phil Schmidt 38 and Clarence Budgett 21 both of Sioux Falls were killed when a plane dropped from about 100 feet during a demonstration near Soo Skyways Airport. Pilot Jack Hollister survived serious injuries and was recovering. The crash occurred around 6 30 pm as the aircraft banked and fell nose down into a corn field. An inspector was awaited to determine the accident care. Schmidt had over 250 flight hours and Budgett about 50 hours. Schmidt was a mechanic for six years. Budgett was an automobile mechanic. The widow and family of Schmidt survive as do Budgett’s widow and two children. Hollister was conscious briefly with favorable prospects.
