Clark Farmers Try Lot Plans on Clean Hog System
Twelve Clark county farmers adopted a clean hog lot plan reported by A M Eberle and Frank Crouse. In the last season 35 hog houses and clean pastures yielded 82 percent pig crops, with noted absence of runty pigs and higher pig counts per litter. Farmers attribute gains to washing sows, cleaning farrowing pens, moving sows and litters to clean pasture, and keeping pigs on clean pasture until weaning. They plan tighter adherence this season.
