In Lane on March 3 the fifth and sixth grades under Mr Godfrey performed The Proud Princess in the high school auditorium as part of social studies on the Middle Ages. Miss Brandenburgs class presented a Japanese program in their room with many parents attending and refreshments served. First and second grades held a social studies program in their room. The Rev. J. Vernon former pastor of Highmore Congregational church and wife and son Walter stayed several days in Highmore as guests at the Barris home. He gave the funeral address for O. H. Harris at the Masonic Temple Thursday. The Vernons then returned to Edgemont South Dakota where Vernon now pastors. They were joined by Mrs. M. H. O'Brien visiting sister Mrs. George Gaughman recently moved from Miller to Edgemont.
