Washington reports the 1939 spring pig crop at 52,314,000 head, up 20 percent or 8,854,000 from 1938, based on 150,000 farmers. The Bureau estimates total 1939 crop production, spring and fall, near 3,000,000 head, the third largest since 1923, with South Dakota showing a nearly 53 percent rise.

To Finish Work On Dry Lake Dam
The South Dakota Game and Fish Commission approved 2200 for WPA material to finish Dry Lake dam work in Hamlin County with half to be refunded by the highway department.
