Plan Horseshoe Pitching Event at Lake Campbell shores

Dates set for field days at four South Dakota stations

Brookings June 28 announces the annual field days at four agricultural experiment stations in South Dakota. Vivian July 9 Cottonwood July 10 Highmore July 11 Eureka July 12 with local speakers. Extension head sees bright future for dairying in South Dakota

A E Anderson director of the States extension service predicted at the Yankton Dairy Herd Improvement Association annual meeting that dairying will enjoy favorable conditions for several years. He cited cheap feeds, rising per capita milk demand, and tariff protection as supports, noting corn oats and barley plantings up while dairy cattle remained steady. He warned beef prices may stay high and many milk cows could be culled, but overall demand and transport improvements should lift dairy profits.

Instructors For Northern Normal Are Named

Aberdeen June 27. President David Allen Anderson announces two new instructors for next year at Northern Normal. Ponce Wass, assistant in the French department at the Nebraska institution, will serve for two years. Tha. B. Whitten, a University of Nebraska graduate, will teach at Northern Normal next year after several years in rural schools in Kansas and Nebraska.
