Presque Isle Maine June 28 An extemporaneous letter from Senator Arthur Gould Republican elected in 1926 to fill the Fernald term advocates light wines and beer as a better alternative to strict prohibition drawing immediate anti dry opposition. He states the right to make drink wine and beer and cites elderberries and grapes. Government officials note wine from grape juice violates the prohibition law. Gould says he is loyal to prohibition but supports licensing light wines and beer. He has not announced reelection.
