About 20 musicians from Huron Elks Lodge No. 444 depart for Mitchell to represent the lodge at the state convention. The Huron Municipal Band plans a regular concert in J W Campbell Park Friday night due to many Elks musicians serving both groups. Albert Anderson wins first in trap shooting with 48 of 50 targets. Bert York ties for second, but Mitchell’s Hastcott wins shoot-off with 25 straight. Gus Anderson posts 45, placing Huron third in the event with Tolmle and York also on the team.

Penney Plans 30 000 Remodeling of Dexter Building

The J C Penney company will spend about 30 000 on remodeling the Dexter building in Huron after a closing out sale ends around August 2. The plan includes a new front with two entrances, a 30 foot rear extension, a large balcony, and new fixtures. After work, the store will have nearly double the current floor space and equipment costing about 12 000 will be added.
