Farmers Union Leader Plans Speech Tour by Air

Kenneth W Nevil, transportation pilot at Rapid Air Lines, will fly tomorrow from the port to Mitchell to collect James A Simpson, president of the National Farmers Union. They will tour Colone for a two hour Farmers Union picnic speech, then proceed to Platte where Simpson will be left. Arrangements were made after Simpson spoke with Paul K Myers, secretary of the Huron Chamber of Commerce.

Speeder Fined $10 For Second Offense

Dale Huntwork was arrested twice for speeding yesterday and cited by the motorcycle officer for driving too fast and later for excessive rate. Municipal Judge Dick Haney imposed the usual second offense fine of ten dollars.

Montana Girl Killed In Automobile Spill

Florence Caldwell of Alzada Montana formerly of Deadwood was killed when the car with Art Powers of Deadwood turned over into a ditch on the Spearfish Belle Fourche road. Powers recovered consciousness later at a farm home. the crash was not discovered for four hours and the cause remained undetermined. The car was wrecked and Caldwell suffered a fractured skull.

High Wind Damages Buildings At Presho

A strong straight wind and heavy rain damaged homes and several buildings in Presho yesterday afternoon. Described as hurricane-force, the event blew in windows and tore shingles from roofs while wrecking barns and private garages. No injuries were reported and damage estimates were not available.
