Willow Lake Couple Celebrates Golden Wedding
Willow Lake marks the golden anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Freda Peck with a weekend of church services and dinners. The pair, who wed June 19, 1899 in Willow Lake, moved from Indiana and South Dakota in the late 19th century. He edited The Willow Lake News for years and she taught piano, still playing for the family and church functions. Guests included relatives from Sioux Falls, Glendale, Oldham, Bryant, Wolsey and surrounding towns.

Family Reunion And Local Weddings In Chamberlain Camp
Forty six members of the King and McGill families gathered June 14 at William King home in Chamberlain for an all day picnic and celebration. In Gann Valley Miss Beatrice Dye wed Clinton Hill in a small church ceremony attended by immediate family. The wedding followed with a supper at the bride’s aunt’s home and continued by a bridal shower tomorrow for the bride. Ruth Eileen Fink celebrated her ninth birthday with friends at the Daktoa Avenue South home of the Finks. A picnic honored Mrs Capnen at Riverside Park, where guests presented a Fiesta ware set. Edeen Elizabeth Carlson and Clyde H Phillips were married at the Carlson home with a simple ceremony conducted by Dr. Wilcox, as Lois Gitchell sang.

Marriage of Phillips and Miss Carlson in Dakota event
The ceremony united Miss Harriet Carlson as bridesmaid and Mrs. Phillips in a peach dress with gardenias as flowers. Attendant Jerry Snedigar wore a gardenia boutonniere while Carlson wore pink lace and a corsage of Johanna Hill roses aster pompons and corn flowers. A reception at the Carlson home followed with refreshments by Doris Boughton and Verna Gitchell. Both newlyweds are Dakota Wesleyan University graduates. he will soon move to Helena to become sports editor for the Helena Record Harold while she plans to join him, with Miss Esta Hatfield of Rapid City attending from out of town.
