Popular Woonsocket Play Center Attracts Youth

Attendance at Woonsocket's recreation center shows strong growth with an average of 87 kids per day during the first weeks, double last year. The peak came on June 24 with 100 youths. Top activities include table tennis, dart baseball, billiards, and crafts, plus an outdoor horseshoe court and night play. Center hours run 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. and 2 to 4:30 p.m. daily except Sunday. craft classes meet Mon, Wed, Fri. rural participants share Wednesday evenings. Advisory committee members are E. B. Oddy, Matt Roach, and Rev. E. A. Folley.

ONeill of Letcher reported dead at 67

Robert F. ONeill, 67, of Letcher, father of former state auditor George ONeill, died Wednesday after a week in a local hospital. Funeral arrangements by H. Noble and Son Funeral Home not yet set. Survived by widow, two sons and a daughter. Relatives visit Doland home scene noted. Band concert held in Doland with Wendell E. Shouse directing.

In the local school election Otto Kitzman won 61 votes and F M Hahn 42 to secure two seats on the board, defeating Q A Schult who had 23 votes.
