Case Against Idaho Men Nears Wind Up
In Coeur d Alene Idaho government aims to prove 43 Wallace citizens aided wide open liquor gambling and vice. Prosecution may rest tomorrow. Julius Johnson a prohibition agent testified mayor Herman J Hossi asked to sell beer during a state lodge convention and to lock the Squor in a warehouse with lodge admission limited. Judge McNary ruled that expressing a desire to violate the law does not prove violation. State evidence showed Rossi elected on a ticket to clean up the city and that after his election he ordered gambling houses closed and slot machines barred but began collecting periodic fines from operators of questionable resorts and liquor houses.
