Man Hitchhikes Back From Mexico To Face Theft Charge

Edward C. Ray, 30, a bookkeeper, hitchhiked from Mexico City to Mineola New York to face a grand larceny charge for stealing 700 dollars from a real estate firm payroll. He disappeared March 23, was indicted a week later, and admitted the theft after arrival. Ray had attempted to surrender in Mexico City and Laredo but was released for lack of funds to return him.
