Growers Of S. D. Ship Much Wool
Growers in South Dakota have shipped over three million pounds of wool this season through the state cooperative, with more than half the annual clip anticipated via the association. Concentration warehouses at Stowe, Watertown, Aberdeen, Mitchell, and Brookings will close by August 1. The association offers low-rate loans at shipping, backed by the National Wool Marketing Corporation and Intermediate Credit Banks, with funds from the Farm Board. Prices are expected to firm as the season ends, with market activity rising late in the week and quotations from Boston adjusted for local freight and handling costs.
