Charles Schadt 52, a farmer north of Bancroft, died suddenly in Iroquois while consulting a physician about heart trouble. A longtime area resident, he came to the region 25 years ago. Survived by wife, two sons Donald and Earl, a married daughter Mrs. Helen Graff of Watertown, and another son Roy of De Smet. Funeral at Bancroft Monday with burial in Bancroft cemetery where Mrs. Schadt is buried. Helen Husted withdrew from the contest.

CANON CITY COLO July 14 George J Abshier and Howard L Royston went to their deaths on the state Prison gallows last night for the slaying of four men in connection with the robbery of the First National Bank of Lamar in May 1928. The double hanging followed the earlier execution of Ralph Fleagle. Parrish, bank president, and his son John were slain in the Lamar holdup. Two tellers were kidnapped and one victim E A Kessinger murdered to silence him.
