Five states and Canada will enter the Northern States Amateur Field Trial Association event at Mobridge on August 26 and 27. The director Rev RR Schuster announced three stakes open to young dogs, all age dogs owned by members, and all age dogs not previously winner. South Dakota director T A Hochwald and W J Jordan will judge, aiming to elevate breeding stock and broaden access beyond moneyed winners.

Illegal hunting halt urged by Yankton sportsmen
Yankton July 17 local sportsmen urged members of the state fish and game commission visiting here to deploy wardens into the territory to stop pre season shooting of pleas ants claiming a heavy toll on birds. They asked for frequent wardens and arrests to deter the practice. The commission led by O H Johnson met here then proceeded to Lake Andes to confer with Sportsmen there.
