Wayland Highway Opened After Snow Clearance
The Wayland road heading south from Wayland over the hills is reported much improved as county caterpillar snowplows cleared it for the first time since December 1931. Cars have used the road during snowdrifts but travel was nearly halted. In Aberdeen, two Northern State Teachers College dramatic stars Harvey Sorenson and Georgia Lillian Kemper, both of Aberdeen, will lead in the American Legion production of the Butter and Egg Man on February 3 and 5.

Snow Blanket Covers Sully County for Two Months
Onida, January 26 Special reports Sully County faced a heavy snow blanket for 65 days. First snowfall occurred on January 1, with depths estimated from 12 to 44 inches. Travel is severely hampered as winds fill tracks, rural mail routes and school buses suffer delays, and plowing concentrates on main highways. Cars and trucks are left idle in garages while bobsleds and horses reappear amid scarce tractors for long hauls.

Sociology class field trips planned for spring semester
University of South Dakota sociology students led by assistant professor L. E. Deets will visit Sioux Falls and Sioux City mid April. In Sioux Falls they will tour the penitentiary for fingerprint demonstrations and study record keeping, meet with Judge Larson, the probation officer, and the city jail.
