New Seed Source List Issued For South Dakota Farmers
Brookings January report says the State Crop Improvement Association and State College issued a new seed source list with 355 names of surplus seed holders. The list covers oats, corn, barley, wheat, flax, alfalfa, sweet clover and millet. The note warns seed quality not guaranteed and urges careful selection focusing on freedom from weeds, local adaptability, germination, and absence of seed contamination. A seed testing service at State College in cooperation with the state seed committee analyzes samples for germination and weed seed content.
