Highmore District Scout Office Opens Under Plan
A district headquarters for Boy Scout activities was set up in Highmore as part of a Central South Dakota decentralization plan. Fred C. Eggers of Huron said five district offices will be created to keep troops in closer touch with supervisors. P. Ryan of Highmore was named to head a six person committee to arrange the Highmore office. Attending were Dr C K Walker G J Kiel F D Greene from Huron and H C Bard Dr E H Wilson from Miller. A Boy Scout troop and a cub pack will be registered at Highmore within days with Herman Kiel as scoutmaster and A R Indall as assistant. J Whitcher will supervise the pack’s activities. Both units are sponsored by the Highmore Hirckwas club.
