Vermillion alumnus rises to university anatomy instructor

Barney Reeney of Vermillion has ascended from a University of South Dakota freshman to an anatomy instructor in three years. A Yankton College chemistry lab assistant, he earned an A B from USD in 1927 and later held science and mathematics posts in consolidates. He received the Dean Christian Peter Lommen scholarship in 1931 and began medical work at Rush Northwestern, planning to finish there.

Christmas Cantata at Wellington Springs Featured In Sunday Program

The First Baptist church of Wellington Springs presented a Christmas cantata Sunday evening under Mrs. Barrett Lowe. The program included The Shepherd's Vision by the choir and girls chorus, The Midsight solo and obligato, The Wise Man duet, The Guiding Star tenor solo, and Hallelujah with choir and girls chorus. Members named include S.C. Blumhagen and W. Helwig. Mrs. Lowe directed with the assisting choir and W. Blumhagen and W. Helwig performing in various roles.
