Social and club activities fill weekly schedule

Numerous groups plan meetings and Christmas parties across churches lodges and clubs. A variety of units including Masonry Delphian and women’s auxiliaries meet Thursday and Friday in local halls churches and homes with hostesses and exchanges of small gifts.

Co-Workers Honor Miss Mildred Svec In Beadle County notices

Co workers at Beadle County AAA Committee and the office gathered at the county office on Tuesday evening to honor Mildred Svec who is to be married soon. A mock wedding featured Ida Shurtleff as bride Tola Louns bury groom Isabelle McCoy minister and Mildred Walline train bearer. A lamp was presented and a show at the Huron Theatre followed.

Pi Alpha Phi Alumnae Christmas Party Held In Apartment

Ione Hedlund hosted the Pi Alpha Phi Alumnae Christmas party with fourteen members present. Mrs Darreil Gibbs presided as president and outlined next meeting plans for December 38 at Blanche Battin’s home with Lou Peterson and Lois Hartzer assisting. Auction and Christmas games followed, lunch served by Hedlund and her grandmother M B Fenner. Mrs Hetlinger hosted the Extension Club Christmas party with seven members and guest J H Peterson. Bridge games awarded prizes to L Ry Carter and Peterson. Gifts exchanged, table decorated, Christmas meal shared.

Pre-Nuptial Shower For Miss Svec in Huron

Sixteen guests gathered at the home of Domonic O Boyle on Friday evening hosted by Mrs. O Boyle and the Misses Kathleen Coughlin and Elaine Martin to honor Miss Mildred Svec who will marry on December 24. Cards at three tables awarded prizes to Dorothy Eickstadt and Beulah Olson. A lunch by Eileen Maguire and Kathleen Coughlin preceded a shower of kitchen gifts. Elks Charity Play The Trial of Mary Dugan at High School

Ladies will attend the Elks charity play The Trial of Mary Dugan at the new high school auditorium tomorrow at six thirty. Auction and contract bridge arranged for those remaining at the hall. Beta Sigma Phi Christmas dinner held Tuesday at seven at the YWCA cottage with gifts and carols. Santa Claus and reindeer centerpiece, sleigh place markers, crystal tapers, and evergreen decorations featured. Mrs Gerald Beddow presided. Ardis Lundeen led the Christmas lighting project. Gifts were exchanged and presented to Mrs C M Wider and Mrs George Schmidt.
