Pierre S D December report shows seven lower court decisions upheld and three reversed by the state supreme court in ten opinions. Church Members Raise Grain to Pay for Upkeep

In western Bennett county the Congregational church plans a new building funded by community seed and labor. Adam Kuxhous said sixty acres of flax yielded six hundred bushels sold at three dollars each for about $1990, with all seed labor and machinery donated. A smaller field also funded the ministers salary via the same cooperative method.

Brookings reports 1 981 acres of small grain seed inspected in South Dakota for the first certification year. Wheat led with 1 383 acres in 34 fields across eight counties, followed by flax, oats, and barley across multiple counties and varieties.

In Hot Springs South Dakota on December 13 alfalfa seed growers in Fall River and Custer counties expect about $200000 for this year’s crop. W F Nolan of the Black Hills Seed and Grain company notes he has shipped over $100000 worth and believes this sum covers roughly half the two counties total production.

Walworth County 1929 report shows baby chick losses fell to 30 percent from 40 percent in 1928 under the Grow Healthy Chicks program. Five Turkey growers hatched 1324 eggs with 22 percent loss, alfalfa and sweet clover acreage rose, and smut control reached about 70 percent of wheat sown.

Mrs. George Little Dies At Conde Home

Mrs. George Little formerly of Mellette died at her Conde home Wednesday morning. She lived in Conde for years but was well known in Mellette from homestead days. Survived by two daughters Mrs. Harry Hansen and Bertha Little of Conde and two sons Dana and Arthur of Mellette. Funeral arrangements unclear. believed to be buried in Ashton cemetery.
