Brookings Girl Earns Second in Lipton Trophy Contest
Miss Geraldine Fenn, Brookings County 4-H leader and Brookings High School graduate, placed second in the annual Sir Thomas Lipton trophy for best long term 4-H record. She heads a home extension club, is active in school and club work, attends State College, and serves in the college military band while singing in the Methodist church choir.

Springs Farmer Dies From Fall Near Wellington
John Thompson, a young farmer, died at his home 11 miles southwest of Wellington after a fall from a moving wagon Monday afternoon. Found unconscious in the wagon, he never regained consciousness. Survived by his wife and a small child.

Life sentence for stealing 30 cents in Texas
Victoria Texas December 12 Thomas McGrew was sentenced to life imprisonment after stealing 30 cents and a picture. Convicted under Texas repeated offenses law for a third felony, the defendant is described as a Negro.
