Robertson Heads Polio Campaign
SIOUX FALLS December 5 United States Marshal Charles W. Robertson has assumed command of the 1940 Fight Infantile Paralysis campaign in South Dakota as state chairman for the celebration of President Roosevelt's birthday and the March of Dimes drive. Proceeds will be distributed on a 50 50 basis with half kept in the county and the other half going to the national foundation. The campaign coincides with the Roosevelt birthdate and notes South Dakota reported polio cases through November 1 totaling 6 803 nationwide 6 803.

Dr Anthony Triolo of Rapid City is named director of the division of maternal and child health by state superintendent of health, effective January 1. He succeeds Viola Russell now at Bismarck. Restraining Order Tying Up Warrants Dismissed By Judge
In Pierre on December 5 the restraining order obtained by Lorna R Johnson to halt warrants drawn for the state school for the blind was dismissed by Circuit Judge L L Fleeger. W W Warner, state auditor, withheld 45 warrants totaling 1259.08 to pay October debts. November bills not yet certified by the Board of Charities and Corrections. Johnson, a resigned employee, challenged the board meeting to certify accounts. The judge denied an interlocutory injunction to continue payments pending case resolution.

Pioneer Woman 83 to Celebrate Birthday in Lake Preston

Former Arlington Man Dies In California
The body of William Martin Lewis aged 67 a retired Arlington farmer will be brought to Sioux Falls Wednesday night and funeral services will be held at 2 30 PM Sunday at the First Luther Church. He died Saturday in Oakland where he and Mrs Lewis had lived since 1938.
