Holiday Lights Ordered For Huron Fair Week

The Huron Chamber of Commerce executive committee orders overhead color lights for nearly a mile of downtown streets for Fair Week. American flags will line streets and decorations will be removed after the event, with new flags to be stocked. The committee also recommends all stores except food venues close on Labor Day, with possible afternoon closures.

Tabor Shipment Tops Sioux City Livestock Prices

Sioux City Iowa reports South Dakota consignments led by Joe Rezac and son's forty two head and C C Torrence's twenty three head of cattle. They averaged 1071 and 1040 pounds and brought 13.75 dollars per hundred. Other shipments included Carpenter at 15.65 for two car loads of yearlings and mixed cattle and Flaherty with ten head.

Livestock Sale Reports Mixed Steers Hogs and Heifers

Mixed steers and heifers averaging 817 pounds sold at 13.25 per cwt while Chris Mortensen offered Gayville sixty-six Hampshire hogs averaging 213 pounds at 11.25 per cwt.

Gettysburg 4-H club members finalize plans for Potter county and State fairs exhibits. At a meeting at Gladys Stewart’s home the group discussed booth decoration and showcased their best-made garments. All six members completed their second year sewing projects.

Clark Calf Days Attract Crowds

Clark Nebraska August 24. An ingenious trade stimulus through Clark Calf Days runs twice monthly since May. The final event on August 28 will mark the eighth calf giveaway. Local organizers expect strong attendance as calves are distributed to participants.

Calf Giveaway Draw Attracts City Residents

A public drawing offered 32 calves to residents who registered at local business places in Clark. Each person could register once, free of charge, with eligibility limited to city limits. The event drew crowds and about 1,900 out-of-town registrants.
