Funeral services for Carl Wistrand 55 are set for Tuesday afternoon at his home 264 Town avenue southeast and at the American Lutheran church at 230. Burial follows in Riverside cemetery with Ellis lodge of Huron conducting short rites. Wistrand born in Sweden June 6 1874 came to the United States in 1898 married Sigrid Johnson in 1903 they had three children two sons and a daughter one son died in infancy Surviving are the widow Mrs Wistrand of Huron son Harold and daughter Elvera both of Huron He was a member of Huron Elks lodge No 444.

Flames Destroy Hand Farm Home Near Miller
Fire at the Barnes farm 15 miles northwest of Miller caused $38,000 in loss to the farmhouse owned by R W Barnes. The building insured for $1,000 and valued at $3,000 were destroyed before help arrived. Sam Dancey occupied the farm. he was away. A collision occurred between Barnes’ car and Don McCutchan’s vehicle, but no serious injuries.
Springs Auto Agency Transferred Saturday
Wellington Springs August 26 A deal was completed here Saturday whereby the Phelps Chevrolet agency was sold to Frank Furrer and George Raabe of Osceola South Dakota who will take possession December 1. The new owners have purchased residences here and will move their families from Osceola. Harvey Phelps the former owner has not announced his plans.

George Moore, airplane owner and pilot, sold his Curtiss army biplane to Ralph Hopkins of Redfield. The aircraft was delivered to its new owner Saturday at Cottonwood Lake. Moore, a mechanic, still owns a monoplane.

Herrick Man Drowns In Missouri Whirlpool
GEDDES Aug 26 William Stein 23 son of Mr and Mrs H D Stein Herrick 8 D drowned in a Whirlpool in the Missouri river 12 miles from here Sunday. The body not recovered at noon today. Stein and three companions were trying to hide a log when he lost his balance and was swept into the whirlpool. His companions struggled to save him and recover the body delaying authorities notification for hours.

Falls While Trying Climb Niagara Cliff
Theodora Johnstone a 20 year old from Detroit was treated at St Marys hospital after a 150 foot fall while attempting to climb the rocky bank near the Falls View bridge at Niagara Falls. He escaped with no broken bones or internal injuries after losing footing 25 feet from the top. He arrived on an excursion and had bragged of mountain climbing in Tennessee.
