G N Halvorson of Castlewood was elected president of the Hamlin County Bankers association at its Hayti organization meeting. Arnold Gerberding Lake Norden was named vice president and L A Jacobson Bryant became secretary treasurer. All area banks were represented as the group adopted by laws and backed a 50 cent service charge on small accounts under $50 a month. The meeting notes 65 percent of South Dakota banks now apply this fee on small accounts.

Miner County Fair buildings rushed to completion
Broward August 24 reports remodeling of stock buildings for the Miner county fair September 5 6 and 7. Swine pens are nearly done and carpenters are building cattle and horse stalls for large exhibits. The west side houses swine, the coal shed north end for poultry, east side stalls for horses and cattle, with space for inside judging if it rains.
