Local social notices list upcoming meetings of the Mothers club WMC Rainbow Lodge and other fraternal groups plus a Beaver County wedding announcement for Elizabeth Waldner and Harold Pontious. Social gatherings include a bridge party for out of town guests and a breakfast for Y M C A official Miss Josephine Ainsworth.
The award goes to Harriet Rosenthal of Chicago, sister of Mrs. Adolph Axelrad. Out of town guests included Mrs. W. Li Buttz of Aberdeen and her sister from Florida. Garden flowers adorned the club house as Mrs. Colton assisted and Mrs. Starring served lunch after the play.
Construction of about ten blocks of concrete sidewalk in the southwest city is delayed awaiting potential new enjoining action. City has completed legal steps and bid acceptance from John Englebretson. Judge Taylor disposed of the old suit but allows plaintiffs to refile. Plaintiffs include Scruby Coughlin Markey Osberg, with lots on Eleventh Street between Illinois and Nebraska avenues.
This week the weekly free dip for Huron youngsters is organized by ML Tobin and sponsors. Children meet at the National Bank of Huron at 10:00 a.m. for free transportation to West Park pool where all except swimsuits are provided by West Park Development Association officers and others.
