Centerville resident Herman A. P. Anderson was convicted of intoxication and now faces a driving while intoxicated charge from a Sunday night crash near Centerville that killed Ester Hillary Irene and injured two ushers. Nels J Pearson 438 Ninth Street South West died Tuesday at 9 p.m. at the home of his sister in law Mrs Jennie Welch of Pierre after a two year illness. Funeral services are set for Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Carpenter Methodist church with Rev. Borgan presiding. Burial will follow in Carpenter cemetery. He was born in Sweden May 8 1881 and came to the United States in 1901 moving to Carpenter. Last fall he retired from the farm and moved to Huron. Surviving are his widow Goldie Pearson a son Mervin Jewel 10, his mother Mrs Oliver Pearson of Willow Lake and three brothers Albert of Carpenter Oscar and Iver of Willow Lake.
