Weed control exhibit planned for State Fair at Huron
Brookings August 13 weed control methods will be featured in an exhibit from State College at the State Fair in Huron September 9 to 13. A L Ford extension specialist will head the display covering cultural methods chemical methods including chlorate use mechanical methods and animal control with sheep. It will show weed impacts on grain marketing and include a poisonous weed exhibit and a model shelterbelt.

Ship Clam Shells To Plant In Iowa
A car load of clam shells was loaded at Dell Rapids and shipped to Muscatine Iowa for button manufacture. Workers gathered clams from the river using large rakes and noted many dead shells with dull luster were unsuitable. Headquarters were at Baltic with most shells collected near Dell Rapids. said to be profitable due to strong demand for shells.
