I C Ronayne, director of the South Dakota division of inspections, reports total receipts of 224 042.98 for 1928 29 from cream tester licenses to petroleum products and a rise over prior years. Huron Woman Asks Damages Under New South Dakota Auto Law
A Huron woman files a damages suit against C A Woods of Minneapolis under a recent South Dakota statute. The law designates the secretary of state as resident agent for service on non residents in auto accident cases, making service upon the secretary equivalent to service on the non resident. The ruling requires 10 day notice and copy to the defendant’s last known address. The initial case sought $1,000 in damages from a Lake Preston accident, and courts may grant up to 90 days continuances to allow defense. An $2 fee is required for filing.
