OUR STREETS AGAIN A MOVEMENT FOR CARE AND GRAVELing
A local paper revisits a movement started by southwestern property owners to curb and gravel streets. The piece notes public interest and cites concerns over current paying laws delaying progress.
City Paving Plans Likely With Curbing as Interim Measure
The city may pursue a wide paving program, but aims to fix inequities in law first. Curbing and graveling proposed as next best step with properly established grades to avoid re-curbing later. Costs seen as manageable to end street hazards and public embarrassment.
Senator McMaster and the Northwestern Public Service clash
The piece mocks Senator McMaster for attacking others over fees while he once sued the state over an expense allowance and hosted Northwestern Public Service ads. It notes Martens defended the governor and questions the senator’s stance on alleged sinister influences while his backers run ads. The column hints at potential conflicts in his South Dakota campaign.

Free and Easy review with Keaton cast and musical turn
Metro through Thursday shows Buster Keaton Anita Page and Robi in Free and Easy a lively lighthearted comedy with clowning and nonsense. The film drifts from silent era Hollywood beauty contest premise to a musical comedy pace featuring adagio takeoff and a desert song number built around the theme song Free and Easy. Some dull stretches but strong scenes and a witty ending make it an entertaining pick for fans of Keaton and period humor.
