Death of Rev Father Leonore Follewnell in Honolulu
The Rev Father Leonore Follewnell died yesterday at 2 o'clock after a long rain season in an almost unconscious state. Surrounded by Catholic clergy from the territory including visitors, he passed peacefully as rites were administered. He had served in Maui and Honolulu, was once provincial and retired in 1881, and had been honored with the Star of Oceania by Princess Luluokalani for service to the church. His funeral rites involved the Cathedral, a solemn office, and interment in the Catholic cemetery.
