Kenilworth and Villard Enter Port After Long Pacific Passage

The American ships Kenilworth under Captain Baker and Villard under Captain Patten, both from Hawaii, arrived near Brazil and reached quarantine within an hour of each other. Distances sailed: Kenilworth left Honolulu 96 days ago, Villard left Hilo 97 days ago. They sailed in company for 23 days, one furling royal once. Baker visited Patten on arrival, praising the Villard’s run.

Austrian Training Brig Artemisia Near Honolulu

Another Austrian war vessel is en route to Honolulu for a short visit. The training brig Artemisia sails from China and will stay briefly at the harbor. It carries two guns and is used solely to train sailors for the Austrian Navy.
