Old Landmark Captain Archibald McIntyre Dies in Honolulu

The long trusted harbor pilot and former government tugboat commander, Archibald McIntyre, aged about seventy, died at his Honolulu home after two years of illness. A Greenock native and resident for forty years, he served as port pilot during Kamehameha V’s reign and leaves two sons and four daughters. Funeral by Rev D P Bionia set for today with Odd Fellows rites at the grave.

The Representatives File Motions on Police Funding

Haus chaired at 10 am as Mr Kaco moved to appoint a committee to oversee police department spending including capes ammunition logging and related costs. The discussion noted police performed commendably during recent trouble while some members faced opposing views on resolutions. Cruise of the Lehua Arrives After Eight Day Voyage

The Hawaiian cruiser Libaa commanded by Berry docked at Kīnau wharf at six this morning, three days from French Frigate Shoals. The Lehua left Tuesday night the 9th, reached Necker Island, then French Frigate Shoals, and returned amid headwinds. Seven turtles and shellfish were brought home, idols reportedly disappeared after a prior visit by H E M S Champion.

Police Court notes in Portuguese and Chinese cases crowd Morning session

In the District Court morning session several natives and Chinese faced charges. A man known as Willie pleaded guilty to assault and paid a $5 fine. Others arrested for opium were discharged or lightly punished. Keslenai alias W Elin paid $160 plus costs for running a ceta game. three others received lighter penalties. Kidnapping and seduction cases linger to Saturday. Carriage ads and a call for a hack with driver top off the notice.
