Expenditures of the Hilo Road Board for the year ending December 31, 1895 totaled 8324 924 with a two year need estimated at 100 000 of which 74 000 is for new roads. A verdict awarded 3000 in Baker vs Humuula Sheep Station Co and A Hanneberg. case decided after a long trial but amicably settled. A reception and ball honored President Dole. Portagrose sugar mill at Kaknan to grind 100 wares this season with a larger crop next year.
The sale of reserved seats for Saturday evening's comedy at Hebron drug store opened at 9 am and was finished by 10 am with all tickets sold. Five hundred tickets were sold. 380 reserved seats were set aside, leaving sides and rear for unreserved seating. Ladies in charge expect to schedule an extra performance early next week to meet demand.
