Defendant discharged in district court trial of Avie Pitzgerald

The court ruled the evidence did not warrant commitment for trial and discharged Avie Fitzgerald after a preliminary examination for an assault with a dangerous weapon against John McLain on January 13. Prosecution witnesses testified to the fracas on Hotel street with Fitzgerald striking McLain with a gun. Several witnesses described the head wound and ensuing aid, while a continuance was denied after key witness John McLain failed to appear. The Russian ambassadors are paid twice as much as the Africans, but the Call says or are more than worth it for their silence in languages.
