Discharge Likely for Filipino War Volunteers
A Washington dispatch reports that as President reduces the Army by 60,000, no musters out have been set for volunteer regiments except those in the Philippines. Officials expect about 30,000 volunteers to be discharged if 20,000 of 27,000 war regulars apply. Exact numbers depend on regulars opting out and regimental reports to the War Department.
