Death by Own Action Near Kawalara

Chas Burke a young stranger who arrived in the Amy Turner committed suicide by leaping from the steamer near Kawashee after handing $1000 in money and $6 in silver to Richly and dropping into the water. Burke was not seen again and nothing more is known of him. A Chinese man attempted suicide by jumping overboard on the Mani but was detected before he could act.
