Wining Operations Steady Pace At Eureka Mines
New shaft connected with Connolly workings on the Catlin property California Gulch will be 4x8 feet with a man-way. The incline in Connolly is over 400 feet, openings extend through laterals and raises, and air is improved. Hoist at California to be installed next week, targeting 100 feet below current workings for higher tonnage. Shipments average three cars weekly from Harris Bros. on Bullwhacker and from Harris & Fine on Marne Group. Silverado ore runs 65 to 70 dollars per ton with silver lead and some gold. Eureka district mining growth draws inquiries on bond and lease as operators explore depth and multiple levels for expanded mineralization. Summer and winter operations are feasible with good roads and favorable prices versus other camps. A Mining Bureau meeting is set for Sunday at 7 PM to discuss general matters and legal locations.
