New Revenue Law Retains Emergency Taxes Through 1916

The 1914 revenue law keeps emergency taxes on tobacco and certain mass media until January 1, 1917 when new taxes take effect. It repeals stamp taxes on telegraphs, bonds, notes, insurance policies and other items while imposing new levies on circuses theaters bowling alleys tobacco products wines and various chemicals. A 30 percent ad valorem duty applies to several color and chemical goods. Subscribe for Sentinel at 3 per year.
