Western Pacific Palisade rail link tied to Buckhorn timber traffic
The Western Pacific plans a bridge across Humboldt river at Palisade and will extend into Eureka Nevada Railway yards to handle freight and passenger traffic. The motive is securing Buckhorn Mines timber and lumber tonnage, with WP offering lower freight rates from Plumas County.
